For more than 50 years I have been writing original stories for screenplays, novels, and children's books. On this page you will find published and optioned works as well as those in progress.

Mr. Duz Solves a Mystery

The first book in the Mr. Duz young reader's has Mr. Duz searching high and low for his house keys. This book is a fun way of looking at the importance of putting things where they belong. The series supported a subscription service and interactive website. Illustrations by Sam Kagan.

Mr. Duz Goes Trick R Treat

10/2007 Published

The third Mr. Duz book followed our Cowboy wearing hero and his dog, Molly, as they Trick r' Treat with a variety of colorful characters. The storyline addresses safe practices while emphasizing having fun with friends and family. Illustrations by Sam Kagan.

Mr. Duz Goes to the Doctor

11/2007 Published

Mr Duz's final installment follows Mr. Duz as he goes to the doctor for his annual check-up. The story features a relatable children's character visiting the doctor's office. Illustrations by Sam Kagan.

Mr. Duz Goes to the Dentist

8/2007

Mr. Duz Goes to the Dentist was the second book in the Mr. Duz series. Created to help children under the age of eight cope with having to go to the dentists. The illustrated characters demonstrate good oral hygiene and the rewards of keeping your teeth clean. Illustrations by Sam Kagan.

Mr. Duz Promotional Video

2007

Thanks to the longevity of YouTube, the original Mr. Duz promotional video is still available on line at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoH1YuEvJhk

Sadly, Mr. Duz was unable to get a strong foothold in the children's book market, but we did distribute just over 5,000 copies. The website saw over a million unique visitors per month.

Dandelions

Novel and Screenplay

Originally option in 2004 by Lucid Media, this screenplay is currently being pitched for production. The novel of the same name is in final draft form to hopefully be released before the end of 2024.

Additional projects and works in progress

Simplest of forms

First self published in 1984, this was an illustrated short story that followed humanity's development of weapons from rocks to bombs through to the ultimate battle of us vs them.

Morningside

Screenplay - Christmas Theme

First Optioned by Lucid Media in 2004, Morningside looks at Christmas from the perspective of a child raised in a small remote village where the season brings a special old man who teaches the children the craft of toy making.

Fight For Freedom

My first screenplay was inspired by the failed passage of the Equal Rights Amendment and details a nation divided and at war. Readers have called fight for freedom the prelude to Handmaid's Tale, although the Margaret Atwood slant is more religiously based. Fight for Freedom is all about control of women and their struggle to be equal.

Night Bird's Song

Based on the true story of a Nigerian Track star who came to America to train for the 1984 Summer Games, only to get railroaded into a rape charge by a jealous sister and ambitious prosecutor. This is a powerful story that needs to be told as a true example of American Injustice.

Time Doesn't Stop for Dreams

Rebecca is a beautiful young woman married to a minor league baseball player. With two young boys the couple struggles to stay afloat, relying on in-laws and the support of friends. When they learn that their youngest son has incurable A.L.L, it's too much for the father. He commits suicide and leaves Rebecca penniless. The state gives custody to her in-laws. Joshua, there son, becomes an inspiration to all as he teaches all who know him to live in the moment.

Boat stories

Eight years on a fishing boat provided me with a lifetime of characters and stories. Boat stories is a compilation of adventures, near death experiences, big storms, romance, drunken brawls and murder on the high seas.
