I am old school. I believe that a person should set appointments and be on time. I think people should keep their political and religious views to themselves. I prefer dogs over cats, but I'll admit that cats can be pretty darn cute. Late to bed and early to rise. I love watching the sun rise and set, but feel as though in recent days, the time between those two events is getting shorter and shorter. My sports teams are the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, Colorado Avalanche, and Denver Nuggets (unless they're playing the Warriors, even though they always seem to defeat the Warriors).

In 2014 I graduated from the Southern New Hampshire University with a BS Computer Information Technology, emphasis in Software Engineering, with a GPA of 3.78 (Magna Cum Laude). This was the completion of a life long goal. My first two years of college were completed at Southern Utah University where I majored in English and Political Science. My SUU education was ended when I spent a Summer in Alaska and decided to enter the commercial fishing industry.

For eight years I worked on the Bering Sea, four months on and two months off. I served contracts on the Arctic Enterprise and the F/T Ocean Enterprise and worked as a Foreman on both vessels during my tenure. When the Ocean Enterprise was retired, I returned to Utah and opened a small sandwich and ice cream shop.

If one were to look at my life from beginning to end, they might think that I have moved around a lot. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, went to college in Utah, fished in Alaska, worked for a radio broadcast group in Eureka, California, and Springfield, MO, all before settling back into a technology career that really began during my fishing years (someone had to teach the captain how to send CC Mail).

In 2009, I met my wife and moved to Colorado. I took a position with Southern New Hampshire University and completed my college education in the process. After graduation I was offered a position with Retriever Solutions Inc. where I worked my way up to the position of CTO overseeing software and web development.

Since the age of ten, I have been writing. Stories, screenplays, ad copy, technical works, training manuals, business and marketing plans, software, website content, HTML/CSS, C#, C++, JS, JAVA, and compliance documentation. If it is typed, I have done it. I have listed current publications, works in progress, on my publication page.

Finally, during the past eight months, I have been enrolled in a cybersecurity boot camp (completed 2/2/2024) and I am currently studying to take my Security+ certification.
